What plans does Infosys have for U.S Workers?
Plans to build 4 Tech Centers on American Soil
Great news for techies, but wait, not for the Indians of course, then for whom? Americans have a reason to celebrate, but on the other hand let us think that we have something in our hands that is being used for doing some fixing.
Indian-based information technology and outsourcing company, Infosys has decided to open 4 tech centers in the US, with an aim to hire Americans. Infosys says this was an earlier plan, which is being pushed now. Now, what conclusions can one make from all of this? It’s an obvious measure to strengthen the relation, which could definitely help in the changing future times.
The first tech center may come up in Indiana, where it is expected to create around 2,000 jobs and more than 10,000 jobs around the US, says Infosys. The Indiana governor has welcomed the decision, saying that he is very happy and honored to go with such progressive decisions.
The IT tech giant has a solid plan, ‘two years, four tech centers, and 10,000 jobs’. With the wave of H-1B program pushing, the firms are compelled to make tough decisions.
Did Infosys bow down to H-1B Issue?
One has to definitely think like that. One of the major reasons for outsourcing is the cost-structure; so obviously, this Indian-based tech giant will have to burn more cash, if it’s planning for any such move. Not only Infosys, but the majority of multi-national companies who had an extreme dependency on outsourcing processes should now to shell out maximum cash for the very things for which they were paying a meager amount.
‘Denial is the first step to acceptance’, the Infosys group may deny the fact about the blow of H-1B program on Indian firms, but the way things are proceeding, we can actually make out that it is a foundation to keep things secure for future.
The US Expansion Plan: Further Steps
Few choose to call the whole scenario as a blessing, but never the same, the plans to expand on the uninvited land seems a move to make the future secure.
Anyway coming back to the earlier discussion, all these tech centers will focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud, big data, and other emerging technologies. Infosys is to train people on innovation and technology, which would make them industry ready and competent enough to work in these tech centers.
But can one expect the same qualities or expertise from the resources? This question looms from every possible person, and only time can answer this.
